Getting our first harvest of rose petals was not enough for us. We had to get our hands on some of our very own rose oil. A few improvisations led to this apparatus, which we were eager to try out. It should be mentioned that this flask holds about 300 g of petals which could possibly lead to 0,1 ml of oil. So every afternoon right after having sold our petals to the local distillery we would start several rounds and collect the droplets of oil over a good week. The locals observed our little experiment with scepticism but a non deniable interest. At the end we achieved a few optimistic milliliters, priceless considering the amount of time and effort put in it!
